MEIBC

The Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council (MEIBC) is a statutory body created under the Labour Relations Act (LRA) 66/1995 to provide for the self-governance and self-regulation of the metal and engineering industries. In terms of the LRA, bargaining councils are issued with a Certificate of Registration (section 29) and operate in terms of a constitution (section 30), which is approved by the Registrar of Labour Relations.

MerSETA, the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority is one of the 23 SETAs established through the Skills Development Act [no.96 of 1998].
